Understanding the Laser Marking Adhesives

The evolving laser technology makes excessive use of laser marking solutions. To which many questions are raised, one of them is; What is laser marking spray, and how is it different from laser marking ink? Laser marking spray is an aerosol spray used with different laser technologies; laser bonding, laser engraving, and laser etching. It is a ready-to-use solution that leaves a permanent and durable mark on whatever substrate it is used upon with whatever technique. The quality, quantity, and use of laser marking sprays depend upon the brand of spray being used. Cermark produces high-quality marks at a high cost. Enduramark works okayish with metals to leave average quality marks but costs less than Cermark, and laserbond100 produces high-quality end results over all the metals at a lower cost. The marking spray and ink produce the same result but have different application techniques. Laser marking inks demand dilution before use, whereas laser marking sprays are ready to use. Th...

Laser Marking on Metal - LaserBond 100 | Tel: 844-577-7772

Laser Bonding is a marking process that produces permanent marks on a variety of surfaces including metals, glass, ceramic, and stone without damaging the surface. Typically performed with a CO2, fiber, Nd: YAG, or DPSS laser systems, laser bonding technology has enabled manufacturers to automate their marking operations. It is the most robust technology that is being widely used to personalize or serialize countless physical items with logos, bar codes, labels, patterns, images, and much more. … https://www.laserbondingtech.com/technology

How to Use Laser Marking Technology on Metals

The process of laser marking on metals dates back to the invention of CO2 lasers in the year 1964. Although, it was an old technique, today it has been improved by the help of various metal marking machines. This laser bonding process over metals is also known as laser annealing. Direct lasers are mainly used for the process of annealing the metal surface.  The process tends to create a long lasting, dark mark on the metal surface that undergoes it. The dark mark is usually permanent. The steps that are involved in the marking on metals include: Exposing the metal surface to a low powered laser beam from CO2 laser. Setting the beam on a low temperature in order to heat up the metal surface and anneal it. The heated surface faces discoloration, causing the exposed surface to be of dark color, probably black. This happens due to the process of oxidation in which the oxygen diffuses below the surface. The use of Fiber laser also helps to mark the metal surface. The benefit of i...
